JEFF'S EXCELLENT GALENA ADVENTURE, JUNE 21, 2006

This morning I mowed the yards, which takes over an hour. Then I got ready for my trip tomorrow.r. Quicky trip, but oh well. I went into Deadwood and did a load of laundry, and got the new phone book in the mail! This is cool because the newest phone book in the cabins is 1994.

I rode up through some back roads on the way to Brownsville. There were 8 turkeys not far from the top of Spring Gulch. Of course, by the time I stop, turn on my camera, and aim and shoot, they are quite further away. This time a deer was coming toward me in the direction the turkeys were leaving, so I got a photo of them together.

They seemed to not be in the least worried about each other, but me instead.

When I got to Brownsville there was some guy shooting modeling photos of some girl. She kept changing clothes in their SUV, which I thought a bit strange. There was a petition at the store for supporting the Brownsville station. Apparently, the guy next door is getting peeved at their expansion program. They had a concert last weekend, and are putting in kids' carnival type rides, like a tiny ferris wheel and a merry go round. They have plans for more of the same, so the neighbor has started a petition against the expansion. He also planted a row of toilets between his property and the store's, but I just thought it was kinda cute when I saw it.

Came home. A good day.
